This will be the first of a regular feature on my blog: Notable Alchemy. Recently Etsy introduced this fun new feature that allows buyers to request certain items that they can't find in the regular searches, sellers bid on the request and something is made out of nothing. Well when you browse Alchemy you'll some some weird, creepy, hysterical and flat out silly request. In what I will call Notable Alchemy I'll be sharing some of my favorite requests with you.
So I think within the first week of Alchemy's existence Anda posted a request for a baby carrier that looked like a messenger bag accompanied with the picture you see above. I think it deserves extra attention for the adorable/hysterical picture of Sidonie and this paragraph in particular
"Extra points if you can make us and our friends laugh when we look at it, or maybe exclaim "That is effing hilarious."
Even more extra points if you can construct a VERY safe bag that LOOKS extremely unsafe and causes the Park Slope moms to frown at me when I wear it. Like, we're about to hop on a track bike and ride away with her or something."
Now don't Pete (Anda's hubby) and Anda sound like super fun people? It seems like that's top priority for working at Etsy though. My favorite part of the request? well as I was laughing so hard and reading it/showing the pic to the music maker he said "why isn't that safe". Yea I guess we're still not ready for our own little ones.
p.s. go check out Anda's shop it has the cutest shoes oh I love them, but my feet are so so picky (maybe I'll have ask an her string of questions so I can see if they will work).
