I don't know much about ol' Bob and Lynda other than they recorded religious music in the 1970s. In my humble opinion, Christian rock/folk in the 70s was actually pretty damn good (see one of my favorite posts thus far
When Jesus Was Cool if you doubt me). Their most successful album
Happiness Is... included typical hippie fare like "My Sweet Lord" (I doubt they paid George Harrison his royalties) and "I Don't Know How to Love Him" from
Jesus Christ Superstar. These musicians weren't the tiresome judgmental lot that we have in most Christian music today - not by a long shot. It was back-to-nature, peace & love, long hair and miniskirts (and I'll bet a lot of them smelled like pot).

But I digress, this was supposed to be just some miniskirt pics...
I didn't have much time to write a well thought out post, so my intention was to just put up a couple of miniskirts and call it quits. Unfortunately, my capricious and highly ADD mind couldn't resist looking up the history behind the Bob and Lynda record. It's a sickness, I know. I had the same trouble when I tried to just put up a simple scan from my Brady Bunch novel, and ended up with a lengthy biography of its mysterious author (see:
My Brady Bunch Novel Was Written by a Wild Playboy.)
More miniskirts...

Add this 1969 classic to my
Great Films and TV Shows Still Not Available on DVD list! Starring David Janssen (
The Fugitive), Don Rickles, and Brenda Vaccaro, and featuring one of the grooviest movie posters ever made (not the one above, but
here at moviegoods).
One movie that IS on DVD is
Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, a movie I just watched the other night. Personally, I wasn't real impressed - pretty boring really. I wanted to like it - it had all the elements of a good cult movie with hippie excess, pretty actresses and even The Strawberry Alarm Clock. Alas, it sucked nonetheless. To me, the best part of the film was the opening credits:

Are you kidding me?!? Roger Ebert the film critic wrote the screenplay and story? I think I knew this at one time, but must have repressed it. The fact that he teamed up with Russ Meyer makes it that much more strange. That's like George Will teaming up with Quentin Tarantino!
Well, I've pretty much proven to myself that I am incapable of just putting up a picture and leaving it be. At any rate, if a Miniskirt Monday is something that sounds good to you, drop me a comment. Until then, here's a little Purab for the road...
A nod to the In-Crowd at I'm Learning to Share for the mod Betty pic above. I don't remember where I got the rest of the pictures - they've been marinating in a folder for quite some time.
