Last year I made all my fellow movie go-ers their own wands. I just typed up a cute little note (mine had typos since I decided to start this project 40 minutes before show time) but I made up a cool composition for each of my friends, like Elm with Centaur hair core. The notes were a fun souvenir to mark the event and the wands themselves they served as a nice little treat during the movie.
What to Do
- rod pretzels
- chocolate for melting (I used milk, dark and white chocolate)
- shortening (optional but makes the chocolate melt easier)
- variety of sprinkles
- pretzel bags (they usually come with twist ties)
- paper for the note
- hole punch
For the notes I just picked a scroll print (Baroque Script) and typed out a little message. If I wasn't going so fast and not paying attention so I could catch the typos mine would have said
Ollivander has chosen this one of a kind wand for you (your friend's name) .
It is made of (type of wood) with a (cool mythical animal part or plant)
core/finish.

We had cherry with a gillyweed finish, pine with elderberry specks, oak with goblin stone tip and more. It was lots of fun thinking of the different wand composites. The best part is that it's quick and easy so you can throw it together to take to the theater or have a bunch on hand if you're having a preparty.
